October 2008: Kids Voting Month – Hold school wide student registrations
2 - Vice Presidential Debate at Washington University on domestic and foreign policy
6 - Last day to register before the General Election
7 - Second Presidential Debate at Belmont University – will be a town meeting format and will include any issues raised by members of that audience
15 - Third Presidential Debate at Hofstra University on foreign policy.
28 - Last day to request an absentee ballot
31 - Last day absentee ballot may be received
November 2008
4 - GENERAL ELECTION DAY – Kids can vote at the polls from 3:30pm-8:00pm!
11 - Veterans Day
12 - Last day for County Board of Elections to receive voted military and overseas absentee ballots (must be postmarked no later than November 3)
December 2008
15 - Electoral College casts official votes for President & Vice-President; each state's electors meet in their respective state capitals
January 2009
5 - The Vice President counts the electoral votes, formally ending the election process
20 - The inauguration of the 44th President of the United States and the 47th Vice President
